Liberal activist and Trump-hater Michael Moore is at it again !!
The has-been film maker is trying to stay relevent by bashing our president in ways that will gain him notoriety and this time he brought some of his broadway show’s audience with him !!
Donald Trump has faced days of criticism from across the political spectrum over his reaction to Saturday’s unrest in the Virginia college town, where a rally by neo-Nazis and white supremacists over the removal of a Confederate statue erupted in clashes with counter-demonstrators.
Doubling down on his initial response to the violent white supremacist rally, the president said at a press conference in his Manhattan skyscraper that there was “blame on both sides” after protests led to the death of a young woman.
Moore wrapped up his one-man show on Broadway on Tuesday night by leading the audience over to Trump Tower to join a protest against President Trump’s comments on Charlottesville.
Moore announced the move on Facebook, saying he and his audience members wanted to “nonviolently express our rage” over Trump’s assertion that counter-protesters were partly to blame for violence at a white nationalist rally that left one woman dead and 19 people injured on Saturday.
Joined by actor Mark Ruffalo, Moore and at least a dozen of his fans called for Trump’s impeachment, chanting, “Hey, hey, ho, ho, Donald Trump has got to go.” In a video of the protest, Moore and Ruffalo were seen weighing whether to invite former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci to join in, as he was apparently spotted having a drink nearby. They ultimately decided against it because he “still likes Trump,” Moore said.
Michael Moore has led the audience of his Broadway play to Trump Tower to protest President Donald Trump’s comments about the deadly violence in Charlottesville, Virginia.
On Facebook, Moore urged people to join him at the tower following Tuesday night’s performance of his one-man show “The Terms of My Surrender” to “nonviolently express our rage.”
After the play, the 63-year-old Oscar-winning filmmaker, commentator and liberal activist is seen on a Facebook Live video leading a group of people on buses to the tower, where the president is currently staying for the first time since his inauguration. Moore was joined by actor Mark Ruffalo.
During the bus ride, Ruffalo, using a bullhorn, led the group in chants including “No Trump, no KKK, no fascist USA” and encouraged people on the street to join them at the tower. Hundreds of demonstrators have been gathering there since Trump arrived Monday night.
Earlier Tuesday, during an impromptu news conference in the building’s lobby, Trump declared that “there is blame on both sides” for the violence in Virginia, appearing to once again equate the actions of white supremacist groups and those protesting them.
Moore described the president’s comments as “just awful, disgusting.” – But WE think Moore is MORE than disgusting !! – BLAME the white supremacist groups, ANTIFA, BLM, and George Soros for the violence – not our PRESIDENT !! He had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with what happened in Charlottesville !!
White nationalists, neo-Nazis and other far-right extremists assembled last Saturday to protest a decision by the city of Charlottesville to remove a statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee. Heather Heyer, 32, was killed when a man plowed his car into a crowd of counter-protesters.
Outside Trump Tower Tuesday night, Moore and Ruffalo held a candlelight vigil and urged the crowd to never forget Heyer and make sure she didn’t “die in vain.”
